INZ Introduces Parent Boost!

As we head into Christmas, there’s a gift for Kiwis & Residents wanting non-Kiwi parents (or grandparents) to join you in New Zealand and truly share in your family’s everyday life.

Among the various temporary and permanent options for reunification, INZ has introduced (from 29 Sept 2025), the Parent Boost Visitor Visa.

With this, Kiwis & Residents, along with applicants, who meet eligibility criteria can have their parents stay in NZ for up to 5 years with an option to apply for another 5 years.

Aside from INZ introducing Parent Boost, other visa options include the General Visitor, Parent/Grandparent Visitor, Parent Resident, and Parent Retirement Resident categories—each with different requirements and benefits.
