Two New Seasonal Visas to Support New Zealand’s Seasonal Labour Demands

New Zealand is set to roll out two new seasonal visa options on December 8, 2025, under the Accredited Employer Work Visa framework: the Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV) and the Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV).

These visas are specifically designed to give Accredited Employers greater flexibility in filling critical seasonal roles, notably in dairy farming and horticulture.

The GWSV caters to highly experienced workers, offering a longer duration of up to nine months a year with easy renewal, while the PSV targets shorter, high-demand peaks but requires a labour market test.

These two seasonal visa pathways signal a clear government effort to secure the necessary workforce for its essential seasonal industries.
