Assess Your Path to Residence with FRENZ

Immigration NZ has introduced new residence pathways for migrants. This is especially significant given that Accredited Employer Work Visas holders are restricted to a Maximum Continuous Stay (MCS) of five years in NZ, after which the holder will be forced to leave NZ for one-year.

Your eligibility to apply for New Zealand residence depends on your individual circumstances and how Immigration New Zealand’s rules and definitions apply to you.

Factors in determining eligibility include:

  1. Experience: how much experience, from where, doing what and is relevant and provable?
  2. Qualification: from where, what level and is it (can it be made to be) relevant to your role on which your residence would be based?
  3. Occupation: what experience is relevant and what is ‘skilled work experience’ based on skill level and INZ definitions of skill level, requirements and duties?  Is it on a relevant INZ lists, e.g, Trade and Tech Pathway, Green List?
  4. Pay: Do you meet, have you met, the current or relevant rate of pay required for a path (Skilled Migrant Category Wage Threshold)?

If you know all the answers to the above and can put the puzzle pieces together to determine your pathway, well done you!

If not, a formal assessment by a FRENZ Licensed Immigration Adviser or Immigration Lawyer is a critical first step towards understanding your residence options.

Drawing on their knowledge of INZ’s residence pathways and experience with hundreds of successful applications, your FRENZ adviser and/or immigration lawyer will provide a detailed assessment that includes:

  • A thorough review of your personal and professional circumstances to explore all relevant residence options.
  • A clear explanation of your current eligibility, including any requirements you still need to meet.
  • Recommended steps towards a future residence pathway if you are not currently eligible.
  • A follow-up consultation to discuss your assessment, explore your options, answer your questions and address your concerns.
