FRENZ Recruitment is seeking a Senior Design Estimator – Electrical on behalf of our client—a well-established player in the energy and infrastructure sector. This is an exciting opportunity based in Waikato for a driven professional looking to advance their career in the Energy Network and Renewables sector.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for preparing winning estimates for major operations and maintenance projects in the electrical field. Collaborating with the management and operations teams, you’ll craft compelling proposals and pricing strategies aligned with client objectives. Key duties include:

• Developing and updating estimating procedures and pricing models.
• Engaging and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Contributing to tender clarifications and participating in client meetings.
• Working on projects ranging in value from $5K to $10M.

About You

You bring a strong technical background backed by hands-on operations experience. Ideally, you will have:

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in NZ.
• Sector experience in Distribution, Industrial, Communications, Power Generation, or Transmission.
• Proven ability to scope, develop methodologies, and understand project delivery requirements.
• Familiarity with NZS 3910:2013
• Experience using CATS or similar estimating tools (preferred).
